RETORIKA PUISI SASTRA GO’ET MASYARAKAT MANGGARAI: SEBUAH KAJIAN RETORIKA DAN PUITIKA LISAN

Abstrak

Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, is a language rich in oral tradtions, including those of Mbaru Niang, Ceur Cumpe, Roko Molas Poco, Go’et, and others. In Manggarai, every type of business is linked with tradition and rituals: for instance, children are set off to foreign lands for study or work with the rituals of Go’et. In this case, the Go’et ritual at hand is that named Wuat Wa’i. The present research focuses on the practices of Wuat Wa’i in the village of Ruteng Pu’u, Manggarai, in East Nusa Tenggara. The goal at hand is to describe the practice of Go’et in Wuat Wa’i. How is Go’et rhetoric used within the Wuat Wa’i ritual? Moreover, what is its meaning? Lastly, what is the poetic structure of the Go’et employed within Wuat Wa’i rituals? Research methods include qualitative research using data collection from observations, interviews, and literature reviews. The results of this research are hoped to be (1) documentation of oral traditions and their performance, (2) novel findings about oral traditions which indirectly maximalize the strength of the text.
